Maggie Klyce is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, EMDR therapist, and board approved supervisor. She served as President for the Alabama Chapter of the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals and was the Walk Coordinator for the Birmingham National Eating Disorder Association’s Walk. She is a national presenter on the topic of eating disorders, autism, and addiction and is published on the topic of sports psychology.
Maggie received her undergraduate degree from Rhodes College and master’s degree from the University of Alabama. She previously served as Clinical Director for a residential treatment center for eating disorders. In addition, she has experience working as a therapist in residential addiction treatment focusing on the needs of healthcare professionals, individuals with chronic relapses, and those with co-occurring disorders. In her private practice, Maggie specializes in eating disorders, addiction, trauma, and anxiety.
Maggie utilizes various modalities depending on client need which include but are not limited to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocecssing, Family Based Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Maggie stays up to date with current research and best practices, combining this knowledge with empathy and compassion to best meet the needs of her clients. In addition to therapeutic services, Maggie also provides community trainings, supervision for licensure, and consultation to support others in responding to mental health concerns.
